someone on craftster.org asked the following question:

What would you do if you had unlimited resources?

What kinds of crafty goodness fantasies would you make reality?

So what would you do if money (and time) were no object?

Here's my answer:

y first thought was buy a giant (humungous) warehouse and partition it into 4 areas (home, studio, office, and tiny area for a potential storefront)

I would fill the studio with AT least the following:

  • computer controlled laser cutter - the boy already has one picked out that we both want
  • a silk screen rig - one of the fancy ones that spins for multiple screens
  • an industrial embroidery machine
  • an industrial strength serger
  • an industrial strength regular sewing machine
  • all the appropriate materials for each machine
  • A jewlery making set up with ALL the tools, supplies, and gadgets you need to melt and cast metal
  • a EPA approved walk in spray booth for airbrushing & casting
  • tanks of resin casting supplies (resin, rubber, mold release)
  • a computer controlled milling machine - large with lots of features
  • a 3D printer and all the supplies to make it work (yes, they exsist - but they are hundreds of thousands of dollars and you have to know how to use a computer 3d modelling tool - good thing the boy does)
  • STORAGE for all the supplies
  • oh - and I'd go crazy at fire mountian gems and several other online jewelry making suppliers
  • Oh yeah and a render farm for the boy's animations
  • and another server with a dedicated IP so I could host our websites myself instead of paying the hosting service an ass load of money every year.

THEN - I'd take a trip to Japan for inspiration.
